George Orwell, revolution and Animal Farm, Iran, revolutioln and Mullahs.

They are  the  epitomes  of  hypocrisy. It  is  the  true  nature  of  the dressed  in  divine  cloths   group  of  rulers  in  Iran.  So inhuman  and  dishonest,  untruthful and  blatant,  yet   self-justifying,  self-interested  and  of course  self-glorifying,  that  no  human  attribute  is  fully  able  to  describe   these  twisted,  freak  and  hypocritical  creatures.

When  I  was  very  young  and  laden  with  the  will  of  understanding  and  acquiring  the  ways  of  self-realization  and  the  formation  of  the  human  thought ,  observation  and  relationship,  a  friend   of  mine  gave  me  a  book  as  a  present.  He  said  to  me : ” Although  reading  such books    is  not  illegal  in  this  country,  but  you  keep  it  in  secret  and  do  not  talk  about it  to  anyone  because  Islamic  regime  is  very  sensitive  to  these   kind  of  materials.”   The title of  the  book  was  ”Animal Farm”  and   when  I read  it  for  the   third  time,  I  realized  why  my  old  friend ( who  was  a  retired  teacher  and  a  man  of  knowledge  and  understanding)  believed  that  such  books   could  not  be  so  interesting  for  the  Islamic  regime  and  its  dishonest  Mullahs.

The  story  made  me   feel  a   resonance  of  a  bitter  human  cry  and  yell  that  was  looming  from  a  dark  space  somewhere  far,  far  beyond  sorrow ,  regret  and  ressentiment,  in  my  heart  and  in  my  mind. The  words  equity,  equality, honour  and  dignity  were  shaped  into  big  chunks  of  mud  in  my  mind,  as  I tried  to   find  what  real  implications  they  had  to  impart.  I  was  sunk  and  overwhelmed  by  the effects  that the message  within  the  story  left  on  my  mind.

As  a  vigorous  teenager,  in  love  with  every  moment  of  life,  I  was  very  keen  to  get  hold  of  every  passing  moment  and  make   out  its  message. In  other  words,  life   for  me  was  like  a  beautiful  collection  of meaningful  and  creative  challenges.  It  seemed  to  me  like  a  high  mountain  to  climb  and  get  multiplied  and  elevated  by  any  pace  taken  towards  the  summit. But   my  imagination  of  life  was  completely  overshadowed  by  the  story  of  ”Animal  Farm”.  My  beautiful  and  transparent  picture  of  life,  was  turned  into  an  illusive  and  obscure  portrait  of  doubt,  hesitation  and  uncertainty;  it  seemed  to  me   like  a  mountain with no summit,  to  climb  and  get  exhausted  and  diminished. The Islamic  revolution  seemed  to  me  like  an  incredible  and  unblemished  copy  of   the  revolution  in  ”Animal Farm”.  The  thoughts,  theories  and  the  general  philosophy  behind  the  Islamic  revolution  seemed  to me  unbelievably  akin  to  those  of  ”Animal  Farm’s”

The  Islamic  revolutionists  were  supposed  to  secure  the  justice  and  equality  that  they  believed  had  been  skewed   and  violated  by  the  Shah  and  his  regime; and  of course  they  were  supposed  to  restore  the  so-called  looted  virtue  and  morality  of  the  Iranians!  And  in  all,  they  were  supposed  to  be the embodiment  of    all kind of blessings  for  the  Iranian  people!

In  ”Animal  Farm”   written  by  George Orwell (who  I  highly  respect  him  for  his  sharp sense  of  wrong  and  right)  revolution  is  depicted as the  only  way  to  get  rid  of  tyranny  and  oppression  and achieving  the  justice  and  consequently  obtaining  the  equality  and  liberty  which  are  humasns’  ideals  for  living  in  peace  and grace. In  his  incredible  depiction of  greedy and  the  ungracious  side  of  human  existence,  he  chooses  the  pigs  as  the  absolute examples  of  excessive  desires,  to  represent ,  incarnate  and reveal  the devastating  and  degrading  effects  of  misusing  the  power  and  abusing  the  genuine  will  and  trust  of  the people  under  the  name  of  justice , equality  and  freedom. In  his  wise  narrative  of  hypocrisy,  pigs  are  representing  the  rulers  who  are  the  perfect  symbols  of  this  inhuman  attribute.

The  conception  of  revolution   in  ”Animal Farm”  comes  from  a    so-called  virtuous  and  respectable  white  boar  and  his  dream  of  freedom  and  equality. He(the boar) inspires  the  others, especially  the  young  ones,  and  encourage  them  to  fight  for  their  rights. Then  he  is  dead;  but  his  inspirations  and  encouragements  are  inducing  and  guiding enough  to lead  the  others.  So,  revolution  is  done;  tyranny  and  tyrants  are  gone;  and  it  is  time  to do the  justice.  Rules  and  principles  are  prepared.  Equality  is  the  main  concern  and  priority  for  the  leaders. Post-revolution  life  is  started. Everybody  works  hard  to help  the  revolutionists  with  their  plans  for  reforms  and  improvements.  they put  their  hearts to  their  efforts;  they  go  through  all sort  of  difficulties  and  hardships-  even war.  They  remain  loyal  and  submissive  to  their  leaders  with  the  hope  of  obtaining  the  goals  of  revolution  and  living  in  a  better  situation. But  nothing  happens-nothing  new  and  better. And  then  there  are  trained  dogs-  fierce  and thirsty  for  blood-  to  tear  the  throats  of youths and  intimidate  the  older  ones. In  the  end  the  revolution  yield  to  nothing  but   sorrow,  pain   and  regret. The  values  are  skewed ; the  principles  violated  and  a  bitter  sense  of  anguish  and  exasperation  is  the  only  remarkable  result  of  the  revolution.

Twenty  years  have  passed  by  now  since  I read  the   ”Animal  Farm”  for    the  first  time.  A  few  days  ago  I  read  it  again.  It  made  me  to  shed  tears, cried  and  mourned  for  myself and  my  generation  who  were  disappeared  into  the  smoggy  air  of  tyranny  and  injustice. I shed  tears  and  mourned  for  that  teenager  who  used  to  get  hold  of  every  passing  moment  to  make  out   its message.  I  shed  tears  and  mourned  for  all  those  bright  teenagers  who  at  that  time  had   great  aspirations  for  themselves  and  their  future  children;  but  gained  nothing  other  than grief  and  pain. I shed  tears and  mourned  for  my  father  and  his  generation  who  nowadays  with   grey  hairs ,  pale  faces  and  broken  hearts  are  worried  about  their  beautiful, bright  and  educated  grandchildren   who  are  exposed   to  the  fierce  teeth  of the  dogs  that  have  been  trained by  the  Mullahs(the pigs) just  to  tear  the  throats  of  youths. I  shed  tears  and  mourned  for  mothers  who  were   beautiful  teenagers  back to  thirty  years  ago  and  had  ardently  pictured   a  prosperous  futures  for  themselves  and  their  future  children ,  and  nowadays  with  broken  hearts, withered  faces ,  dimmed  eyes,  and  glamorous and  unseen  grey  tresses,  are  worried  about  their  children. I shed tears  and  mourned  for  all  our  buried  desires. I  cried far, far beyond  grief  and  regret.  I burnt  into  ashes.

I do  homage  to  George Orwell  once  again,  the man  who  was  truly the  conscience  of  his  time;  the  man  who  was  free  of  bais  and  prejudice; the man  who  never  ever  made  his  judgements  by  solely  relying  on his eyes  and  his  ears;  the  man who  with  his  vivid prose  and  his  exact  crisp  use  of  language  was  able  to  see  the  unseen  and  reveal  the  concealed.

Now  a blessing  in  disguise  has  already  given  me  the opportunity  of  living  in  Great Britain-the  country  of  George Orwell;  the country  which  undoubtedly  is  one  of  the  most significant  countries  in  the  world;  the  country  which  has  massive  capacities  in  different  fields. As  I  have  been  living  in  this  country  for more than  two  years,  I  have  already  realized  that  there  is  a  very  genuine  will of  contributing  to  the  world,  in  the minds  and  hearts  of  British  people. I  have  already  realized  that  there  are   conscientious  people  and  political  figures   who  are  genuinely  worried  about  the  Iranian  people  and  their  current  condition  which is  painfully   giving  rise  to  serious  concerns.  Therefore, I  strongly  believe  that  Great  Britain  and  its  people are  the  only  country  and  people  who  can  help  the  Iranians  much  better  than  any  other  country  and  people  could.

We  can  not  deny the  history,  or    make it  up. Any  kind  of  denying  attitude  towards  the  history , would  be  in fact  a  way  to  ignore   the  guiding  lessons  and  knowledge   which  are  enclosed  within  every  single  moment  of  history.  With  regard  to  this  highly  important  matter,  I  have  no  reason  not  to  believe  that  new  generation  of the  British  rulers  and  British  people  have  a  very  clear, tangible, wise, realistic  and practical  attitude  and  recognition  towards  the  history. There  had  been  some wrong  attitudes  towards  the world,  during  the  imperial  time;  and  it  is  acknowledged  by  the  new  generation  of  rulers of  Great Britain.  Therefore ,  I think  it  is  the  right   time  for  Great  Britain  to  set  out  to   conquer the  world  in  a  different  way;  by  the   way  of   winning  the  trust  and  respect  of     people  in the countries  like  Iran- by  the  way  of  making  more  efforts  to make  a much  more  transparent  and  easily trust able picture  of   Great  Britain. It  is  my  genuine  believe  that  Great  Britain and  its  conscientious  people  who  are  undoubtedly  highly  educated  and  understanding  as well,  are  enormously  capable , as  a great impact,  of  leading  the  world  into  a much  more  human  and  peaceful path. Civilization, knowledge, morality, sincerity, tolerance  and  a very  sifted  wisdom  and  virtue,  these  are  the  respectable  attributes  of    the new   British generation;  these  are  the most  powerful  weapons  for  such  a nation. So,  I believe  that  such  weapons  are  the  most  useful  and  effective  weapons  to  conquer  the  world  which nowadays  is  much  more  knowledgeable  than  it  was  in  the  past.

Three  decades  after  the  Iran revolution  in 1979,  there  are still   skeptic  views  towards  the  Great Britain  in the  minds of    Iranian  people. They  are  not  people  of  bias;  they  are  not  people  of   nonsensical  obsessions  with     the  past. They  are  knowledgeable   people  with  flexible  and  compromising   attitudes. So,  why they are  still so suspicious  about  the   Great Britain’s attiuudes  towards  Iran? If  the  weather  is getting  changed, they  would  say ‘ yes, some  English men  must  be doing  something  to the  weather’  or  if  they  see  a  stone  on their  way , they  would say  ‘ it  must  be  put  there  by  an  English  man’   As  I  mentioned  before, we  can  not  deny  the  history  as  the honest  narrator  of  the  past  events. There  are periods  in  the  history  of  Iran  which   have  evidently  narrated  the  consequences of  the  presence  of  the British in Iran. And  of course  there  had  been  some  adverse  and somewhat  agitating  issues ,created  during  the presence  and  influence  of  Great  Britain in  Iran in  the  past, which  can not  be  denied  and  should  not  be  ignored  if  there  is  any  mutual  and  wise  plan  to   sort  out  the  past  and  its  destructive  impacts  on  the  present relationship  between Iranian  nation  and  British  government.

Many  western  countries   have  begun  to  make  radical  changes  in  their  attitudes  towards  the  rest  of the  world,  since  thirty  years  ago;  and  some  of  them  have  been  relatively  succeeded  to create  a  new  and  clear  philosophy  to  deal  and  compromise  with the  countries  which  had  been  hurt  and somehow  exploited  by  them in  the  past. The  most  significant  western  countries  in  this  issue,  are  Germany, France, Italy  and  even  America. They  have  been  successful  in  making  trust  and gaining  the respect  of  people  in  the  most  of  the  countries  in  which  there  had  been  very  incredulous  views  towards  them. Germany  as  the  most  successful  western country  in  this  issue, has  been  incredibly  wise  and  foreseeing  in making  new  ties  with  the  nations  rather  than    relying solely  on  its  relationship  with  the  rulers  and  governments.  And thus  this  significant  country  has  gained  an  enormous credit  in  Iran and countries  alike. As  to  the  America, I have  to  say  contrary  to  the views of  the  outside  world, in  Iran, I mean in  the mind  of  Iranian nation,  there  is    no that  much  incredulous  view  towards  America , which  there  is  towards Great Britain; although, some  of  them are  still  chanting   ‘down down with  America’  or  ‘America, the  big Satan,’  in  the  political  games  which  are held  by  the  Islamic  regime, but  in  fact  the  incredulity  towards  the  Americans  has prospectively  begun to  decrease.  With  no  doubt,  whatsoever,  the  wise efforts  of  the  mentioned  countries  in  making  new  and  creative  ties  between   the  nations  have  been  the  main  factor  in  creating  positivity  and  reliance  in  the  mind  of    Iranian  nation towards  themselves. For  instance, the  relationship  between  the  social  organisations,  apart  from  political  issues  and  differences,  has  incredibly been  effective  to  moderate  and  even  somehow  compensate  for   damages, done  in  the past.  Using  all  the  possibilities  which  have  been  a way to  channelling through  the people’s  minds  and hearts, have  been  the  resultful  policy  of  the above mentioned countries. In this, cultural  matters and  sport,  especially  football as  an  amazing   phenomenon, have  played    indirect , but creative roles. It  is  interesting  to know  that the Americans  have relatively   succeeded  in ameningd their  distorted relationship with  Iran in  some fields, while  they  have  not  had  their embassy in  Iran, since  1979.

Has  the Great Britain, as one  of  the  word’s powers, and of course  as the country  which  its name  is  imprinted  in any single  page of  the 300 hundred years  of   the recent  history of  Iran, made  any remarkable effort in  order to  gain  the  trust of the  Iranian  nation, other than the mere  and  routine  diplomatic  and  political efforts? Have the British  social organizations  and communities  taken any step  to get closer to their  brothers and sisters  in Iran?  Have  they  done  anything  remarkable  to  show  their  respect for the Iranians, apart  from the political problems  and disagreements? Have the British society established  any remarkable  social  and cultural institute  in order  to create  a  sense of respect  and frienship  through  the mutual  communications  and agreements? Unfortunately, the answers to  these  questions  and many others, would be a big NO!! Why?

In  a  near  future Iran’s national Football team,  is going  to go  to  America  for the  third  times in  recent years; of course  it  will be  just a football  match , but  there  are beautiful  implications  behind  that. It  is  just  a wise  use of  a  popular phenomenon like football  to  create a  little  bit  of  friendship  and  respect; and  definitely  these  little bits  of  respects  will  be  enormously  effective  in the process of  compromising  and  reconciliation between  the two nations and consequently a great help  to  rulers in  channelling  through  their  problems  in a better  atmosphere.  Adding  to this,  there  have been  a lot of  confrontations  between  the  Americans  and  the  Iranians  in  different  sport  and  social fields  from  wrestling  and Football  to  cinema  and  other cultural matters. And so, have   been doing the Germans, Italians, French who are the main commercial partners for Iran nowadays. My main point in this matter is, that  this era is the era of people and people. This era is the  era of cogency ,logic and respect, as people  have changed  and are not  the  same  people  who  used to be forty years ago. I mean in these days everyone knows best, as our world  now is a quite informed  and cogent world. Naturally, in such a  world it is just respect and recognition  which  can be  the  most  decisive weapon to  win and get access to different advantages.

As an asylum seeker in Great Britain, I was handed  a bundle of papers before going to a  tribunal court, nearly two years ago. The papers had the  title of  THE INFORMATION OF THE COUNTRY OF THE ORIGIN. When I went  through  those papers, honestly, I just laughed and laughed , as  I found nothing different and remarkable in those papers which could be even relatively a  suggestive of the realities of  social  and political problems  in Iran. It was obvious that those information could be accessible  to everyone  on Internet and  in public domain. And  later on, when I found  it very difficult to find a book  for  example about the history, culture  or literature of Iran in  the central library of a big city in  this country, I was bitterly convinced  that  there  has been no will  to know  a little  bit, just a little bit,  about  a country which is undoubtedly  a significant  part of  human civilization and memories in this world. Trying to know a person, a society and a nation, is in fact a way to get closer  to them and of course  a beautiful  way of showing  respect  and recognising their cultural  and social values.

I do hope that my dear  civilized, polite,  and  highly informed British brothers and sisters  do not get me wrong; as  after  having been living in this country for more than two years, I have already realized  that   any kind of  criticism  is  strangely  considered  as  ANTAGONISM, especially if  criticism comes form a foreigner. And  lastly  I may be allowed to say  that  unfortunately  British nation  and  the British rulers  do not have any clear  and tangible information about  the true  nature  of  the  Iranians  and the religious  group ruling over them. I may be  allowed  to  say  as well, that  the unbelievably  indifferent  attitudes of  the British  nation and  the British government  towards  Iranian people  have been  the  main  obstacles  in  the  way  of  decreasing  the  hindering  suspicions  in  the  minds  of  the  Iranians  towards Great Britain’s policies. And  I have a suggestion( as  a very easy  way  to get  to a comprehensive knowledge  about the realities  of   the  devastating social  and political  problems in Iran) for the  British people and  the British rulers; it is very simple  and useful. Please do bother  and  read  the  George Orwell’s  ANIMAL FARM once  again,  and  do  not  make  any  doubt  that  it  is the  most  reliable  description  of  the  religious  group  of  rulers  in  Iran,  and  of course  the oppression, abuses  and humiliation  which  the Iranians  have  been  going through for  three  decades. It  surely  will  be  much more  informative  and  guiding  than  all  those  sheer  diplomatic  and  political  procedures  which have  not  been  effective  even  to  let  the  Iranians  know  that  the  new  generation  of  rulers in Great  Britain  have  no  exploitive  attitudes towards  the  world. Please do bother  and read  the  ”Animal Farm”  once  again  and  try  to  convince  the Iranians  that the  new British generation   are equipped  with the  weapons of  knowledge, wisdom  and cogency, and such  a  nation  has no  exploitative  attitudes  towards  any country.
