Obama, Mullahs, and western medias, what will they do for Iranian people?
What is really remarkable in the surge of recent changes in America, is the different language which is seemingly meant to communicate different things in different ways. Although the bitter truth of this materialistic ( or perhaps realistic) world is so depressing and discouraging in its terms of approaching the solutions, but I optimistically believe in will and purpose which words carry regarding to their sounds. So, the sounds of words, uttered by Mr Obama, are hopefully-to some degrees- indicating that they have some things to do with their true implications.
In his rhetoric, Mr Obama, implicitly, imparted a genuine will of communication and mutual understanding towards international problems. As a matter of course, true will to understand and recognising the others is the only way to cope with the really dire situation of our world.
The deteriorating economical issues which has already exposed the whole world to the threat of a real disruption, and with regard to the vital importance of solidarity and co-operation of nations in this issue, I think it is high time for the Islamic regime and Mullahs in Iran to take on a new and of course more flexible policy towards their world and their nation. I think it is the right time for the Mullahs to show a little bit respect for the world community and their own nation via opening the doors of Iran to the world and through an optimistic attitude taking part in the universal challenges over the common problems which our world is undergoing.
If Mullahs are really legitimate in their positions and have any real assurance on their place in the minds and hearts of Iranian people, they should not be afraid of the hands which are stretching out to them to offer a better and mutual understanding on the common issues.
The religious group, ruling over Iran, has been brilliant at wasting the great opportunities of tackling their problems with the world’s powers and consequently giving the chance of promotion to their people and allowing them to play their parts in the international scenes as a viable and significant nation.
To what extent can Mullahs keep the doors of the country closed and keep spending the wealth of the nation to fortify their chateaus just in order to hang on to power and going on with their ruling- maniac desires? Of course I am not a blind critic as I am fully aware of the inevitable realities which we are facing with in this world; so, I think it is the absolute right of any country to take on a secure manner of dealing with the international issues; and of course it is the absolute right of any nation to get to the defensive abilities as our world is not a flawless and perfect world; but to what extent should a country or a ruling group think of security measures and defensive abilities? Isolating a nation from the world, which it belongs to as a significant and cultural part of it, and spending an awful amount of money on defensive plans -which undoubtedly was enough to develop the country in a short period- is what Mullahs have kept justifying it as SECURITY MEASURES AND PREVENTIVE AND PRECAUTIONS defensive abilities in dealing with the world.
As the history is our great witness, we have never been an aggressive nation, or a nation of extremism, blind bias, and excessive trends and violent behaviours. Therefore I believe, Iran, a powerful Iran, can , beyond any doubt , be the watershed of peace and reconciliation for the world; but the question which is raised in this issue is: What kind of powerful Iran is meant to be the watershed of peace and reconciliation for the world? A powerful Iran which its individuals are part of its power, or a powerful Iran which is used as a military base by some infidel and power-maniac Mullahs who seek their survival in crisis and controversial atmospheres? A free, democratic and advanced Iran with that great and exquisite background of culture, which in fact is the culture of realization, moderation and tolerance , will be capable of creating the balance and harmony in relationships in the region and consequently being a significant help to the other parts of the world.
Therefore, in my point of view, the Iranian nation must be considered as the most eminent target in the surge of new changes in relationship between Iran and West and in particular Americans. Unfortunately there has always been an awful misunderstanding and misinterpretation in terms of approaching the Iranian people , as they have always been- directly or indirectly- considered as part of Islamic regime; so, I, as an Iranian, fully aware of all ups and downs of my people, my society and my culture, strongly believe that this unfair and of course absolutely wrong way of approaching a nation( which painfully has been living a life of captivity for Three decades) has been the main cause of poorly attempted efforts of West in dealing with the issue of Iran which has enormously left negative effcts on the majority of international issues.
Thereby, as it is obvious that the Islamic regime which apparently is willing to take on a different attitude, will not be clear enough and sincere in terms and conditions of any kind of procedure which will be taken on to repose the necessary mutual trust in the collation of solutions; so dealing with the issue of Iran definitely will not be so easy and fruitful when it comes to looking for the solutions and channelling through the main targets in this issue. On the other hand, the military solution and using the force as a lever to shift the Islamic regime, surely will not be an effective and wise act in this sensitive time.
So, approaching the issue of Iran and its Islamic regime is deeply in need of an exhaustive plan, in which all the necessary information and guidelines are prepared in accordance with the realities of what has been going on in Iran during the past three decades. It is undeniable that West has been unable to deal with the issue of Iran as the present influential role of Iran in the middle East is the absolute indication to this issue. To my knowledge the western medias has been the main cause of the West’s failure in this issue. Unfortunately the western medias has not been able- even relatively- to give a clear and tangible account of Iranian society and the ruling group over it, despite of being equipped with different kinds of knowledge and technology. As an Iranian, it has really been sobering and of course wandering for me to hear the comments of western medias on the recent changes in America and the presidency of Mr Obama and the possibilities of channelling through the old problems between West and Iran and America in particular, as their trends in approaching the issue are unbelievably raw and far behind the truth: ” Iranian people are against any kind of relationship with America, while Iranian government is ready to have new ties with America!!!”,this is the way of recognising and approaching the realities of a country and its people by one of the most popular western medias!!! And it shows that unfortunately western medias are in need of urgent changes in their methods of approaching and analyzing the people’s mind and quests which are based on their own culture and beliefs and of course their involvement in the unwanted and inevitable challenges which are imposed on them due to the deliberately created circumstances by astute rulers. Obviously it would be an easy job for a reporter or a journalist to get to a reliable assessment on the people’s general quests and needs if he or she is supposed to do so by walking in the garish streets of a western country which its people have not been obliged to concede and going through any kind of unwanted and imposed situation; definitely , applying the sheer psychological and sociological methods to the process of getting to a general knowledge on the life of a western society would be the most resulting and reliable way; but definitely, it would be of no use when it is supposed to go through the life of a nation that has been under the most intricate mental pressures, a nation which has been compelled to play silly games even with itself just to earn its butter and bread and keep going with the hope of getting to a point at which a reasonable movement can be started to change the current issues.
Therefore, carrying out any kind of changes in this issue is necessarily in need of an exhaustive information about the social realities in Iran; as no changes can be achieved without taking the true quest of Iranian nation under a scrutinising consideration. So, in my point of view all the efforts in this issue must be concentrated on the inner changes in Iran, as I beleive an uncompromising regime which has been actually fighting against the west for Three decades in different fields and different forms, has never ever will come to terms with the west in a comprehensive way. Therein, I do hope that western medias in this issue will be able to give a true account of the Iranian society to the western politicians and lead them to an even ground, on which the foundation of a radical change can be set and leads the process of changes to a level of flexibility and fruitfulness.
